Speeding up an international expansion process.
An ever increasing number of companies - mainly medium-size concerns - tends to export to non-European countries. Their objective is acquiring new markets - which often are rather interesting as to volume - or relocating part of their manufacturing facilities thanks to lower production costs.
As regards non-EU markets for the products from the Lecco area, once almost exclusively restricted to the Mediterranean countries, export to Eastern Europe, Far East and, above all, the Americas, is increasing.
