The metallurgical and mechanical district of Lecco was created in the spring of 1994 on the basis of the regional law of February 7, 1993. At the Lecco Chamber of Commerce is established the Metal an Mechanical District Commitee, costituited by representatives from each Local Body, Companies Association and local Trade-Unions, to promote the district and its businesses, realizing the right synergies between public and private institution of the territory. The secretariat is established within Lariodesk Informazioni, Special company of the Lecco Chamber of commerce. The Lecco Metalmechanical District is member of "Italian Districts", an association active from 1994 to represent and develop the local systems of companies, typical Italian local economic model.
